The Wilson Family Coca Cola Collection
Lot 40:
Description
Early 1907 Coca-Cola oval tin advertising tip tray featuring the classic ?Drink Coca-Cola? script above a turn-of-the-century portrait of a young woman raising a glass of Coca-Cola with the slogan ?Relieves Fatigue 5?.? The tray displays a decorative border with coffee beans and foliage and retains the fine print along the lower edge reading ?Chas. W. Shonk Co. Litho. Chicago, U.S.A.?, the well-known lithographer responsible for many early Coca-Cola advertising trays. This iconic early advertising piece dates to the first decade of Coca-Cola national promotion and is widely recognized among collectors as one of the classic early trays produced for soda fountains and counters. The tray is attractively framed for display and shows expected age wear and light surface marks consistent with early tin lithograph advertising, presenting well with strong color and desirable early Coca-Cola imagery. Frame measures 8"x6"
