The Wilson Family Coca Cola Collection
Lot 48:
Description
Original 1916 Coca-Cola oval tin advertising tip tray featuring a young woman in a yellow dress and wide-brim hat holding a glass of Coca-Cola against a leafy outdoor background. The tray retains its ornate gold border with repeating geometric design and the classic ?Drink Coca-Cola? script at the top and bottom. Along the edge the tray is marked ?Passaic Metal Ware Co., Passaic, N.J.? with copyright to The Coca-Cola Co., identifying the well-known manufacturer of early Coca-Cola advertising trays. This iconic early soda fountain advertising piece dates to the mid-1910s during Coca-Cola?s golden era of illustrated advertising featuring elegant female figures. The tray is attractively framed for display and shows light age wear and surface marks consistent with antique tin lithograph advertising while presenting well with strong period imagery.
