Lot 367:
Description
Pair of blue and white hand painted porcelain open salt cellars featuring a flowing floral and foliate motif in deep cobalt blue on a white ground. Each small bowl form measures approximately 4 inches wide by 3 inches tall and stands on a small circular foot. The decoration wraps around the exterior with a simple interior glaze and faint underside markings. Classic tableware form used for individual salts during the late 19th to early 20th century. Both present well with typical age wear including light staining and glaze imperfections as shown.
