Description
Matched pair of antique marine navigation lanterns by Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp., Brooklyn, N.Y., featuring original red and green Fresnel glass lenses used to indicate port and starboard positions on vessels. Each lantern is constructed of heavy blackened metal with domed ventilated tops, integrated hanging rings, and ribbed Fresnel lenses designed to amplify light visibility at sea. Maker’s plaque reading “Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp., Brooklyn N.Y. U.S.A.” remains visible on one lantern. The pair measures approximately 14 x 11.5 x 20.5 inches and shows honest maritime wear including surface oxidation, paint loss, and age patina consistent with shipboard use.
