Description
Antique cast iron counter balance scale marked “Fuerza 5 Kilos, ” likely of Mexican manufacture and designed for shop or market use in the late 19th to early 20th century. The scale features a heavy cast iron base with stepped form, decorative brass balance indicator, and twin iron platforms designed to support weighing trays or goods. The mechanism retains its original pivoting arms and cross supports with brass capped mounts, while the central pointer indicator allows visual leveling during use. Marked “FUERZA 5 KILOS” indicating a five kilogram capacity. Constructed of cast iron and brass with honest age wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with use in a commercial environment.
