Description
Antique brass apothecary or laboratory balance scale mounted on a rectangular wooden base with integrated storage drawer containing assorted brass calibration weights and accessories. The scale features twin suspended brass pans on chain supports attached to a horizontal beam with adjustable pointer indicator and vertical column mounted to the wooden case. The drawer houses a fitted block of graduated weights along with additional loose weights and components used for precision measurement. Likely late 19th to early 20th century scientific or pharmacy equipment, constructed of brass, steel chain, and wood. Condition shows honest age and use including surface wear, oxidation to brass components, and wear to the wooden base finish.
