Lot 295:
Description
Hand knotted Persian tribal wool rug featuring a bold geometric medallion design set within a vibrant red field. The composition is centered by three large stepped hexagonal medallions connected along a central axis, each filled with star and rosette motifs and surrounded by dense tribal ornamentation including stylized birds, small geometric devices, and symbolic elements. The field is framed by multiple guard borders and a wide sky blue main border decorated with repeating tribal patterns. Rich colors of deep red, navy, ivory, blue, and olive create striking contrast typical of traditional Persian village weaving. Finely hand woven with wool pile and finished with fringe ends, the rug measures approximately 9′ x 5.5′ feet including fringe. Displays light age appropriate wear consistent with use while retaining strong color and excellent decorative presence.
