Description
Antique Oliver No. 5 Standard Visible typewriter manufactured by The Oliver Typewriter Company, Chicago, U.S.A., featuring the distinctive down-strike type bar design and olive green enamel body with gold lettering. The machine retains its original cream colored key tops and marked controls including Fig, Tab, Right and Left adjustments. Front plate reads “The Oliver No. 5 Standard Visible Writer, ” with manufacturer marking along the base. A hallmark of early 20th century office equipment design, Oliver typewriters are known for their unique mechanical layout and distinctive appearance. Estate condition showing age and use including surface wear, dust accumulation, and general cosmetic wear consistent with storage; operational status not tested. Measures approximately 12 inches wide and approximately 13 inches deep.
