Group of six books dating from the mid 19th to early 20th century including Hood’s Own: Selected Papers with Comic Illustrations published by Kiggins and Kellogg, New York, 1854; Aesop in Rhyme, or Old Friends in a New Dress by Marmaduke Park, Philadelphia, C. G. Henderson & Co., 1852 with engraved illustrations; Selections from the British Classics published by Arthur Morrell, New York, 1852; Every Young Man’s Companion by W. Gordon, London edition; The Care and Feeding of Children by L. Emmett Holt, M.D., eighth edition, D. Appleton and Company, 1917; and an additional juvenile or instructional volume from the same period. Books contain engravings and illustrated plates typical of 19th century educational and literary works. Estate condition with age toning, foxing, edge wear, and some loose or detached pages. Books measure approximately 5 x 3.25 inches up to approximately 7.5 x 5 inches.
