Group of four 19th century books and bound volumes including The History of the Two Americas Complete published by Jay Andrews Decker & Co., Chicago, 1881, illustrated with engravings including a portrait of Christopher Columbus; A Descriptive and Historical Account of Hydraulic and Other Machines for Raising Water by Thomas Ewbab4323, second edition, New York, D. Appleton & Company, 1846, illustrated with numerous mechanical engravings; a bound volume of The Republic: A Monthly Magazine of American Literature, Politics & Art dated 1852; and Godey’s Lady’s Book and Ladies’ American Magazine, Vol. XXIV January to June 1842, published in Philadelphia by Louis A. Godey, featuring engraved and hand-colored fashion plates. One volume bears a handwritten ownership inscription for Frederick Farrand dated May 16, 1863. Estate condition with expected age toning, foxing, and wear to bindings including spine damage on one volume. Books measure approximately 9.5 x 6 inches up to approximately 11.5 x 9.5 inches.
