Description

Three 19th century American reference and institutional volumes including Transactions of the New York State Agricultural Society for the Year 1865 (Albany: Cornelius Wendell, Legislative Printer), illustrated with engraved plates and diagrams relating to agriculture and dairy production; Michigan Township Officers’ Guide compiled under the supervision of Gilbert R. Osmun, Secretary of State (Lansing: Robert Smith & Co., 1890), a practical manual detailing township governance, elections, and duties of public officials; and The Law Glossary by Thomas Tayler (Albany: W. & A. Gould, 1833), a legal reference work explaining Latin, Saxon, Norman, and other legal phrases used in early jurisprudence. Bound in period cloth and leather with typical age-related wear, rubbing, and foxing; several volumes contain period ownership inscriptions including George Robinson dated 1835 and earlier family inscriptions. A desirable grouping of 19th century legal, governmental, and agricultural reference works reflecting early American civic administration and agricultural development.
