Lot of five antique 18th and 19th century books including American Antiquities and Discoveries in the West by Josiah Priest (Albany, 1833) featuring a large foldout engraved plate of artifacts, Analysis of Pope’s Essay on Man by William C. Bell (Lexington, KY, 1836), Memoria Technica or Method of Artificial Memory by Dr. R. Grey (London, 1805), The Anatomy of the Human Body Abridged by James Keill, M.D., Fifteenth Edition (London, 1781), and Gould’s Pocket Pronouncing Medical Dictionary by George M. Gould, New Fourth Edition (Philadelphia, P. Blakiston’s Son & Co., 1904). Several volumes contain early ownership inscriptions including George Robinson dated 1833 and additional family signatures likely related to the Farrand family collection. Bindings include leather and cloth examples with typical age-related wear, edge loss, foxing, and binding fatigue as photographed.
