Description

Japanese Satsuma style porcelain jar with twin loop handles and relief molded body decorated in overglaze enamels and gilt featuring chrysanthemum blossoms, maple leaves, and trailing foliage. The rounded vessel form displays a textured molded surface beneath the decoration, with hand applied enamel colors including red, green, and gold highlights typical of late Meiji period export wares produced for Western markets. Interior is glazed and the handles are molded in loop form with subtle painted accents. Measures approximately 6.75 inches wide by 5 inches tall and about 4 inches deep. Surface shows light age related wear and minor glaze imperfections consistent with early hand decorated production. A decorative Japanese enamel porcelain vessel suitable for display.
