Description
Large Chinese porcelain charger decorated in famille rose enamels depicting a celestial maiden floating among stylized clouds while holding a lantern, surrounded by a decorative floral and scroll border. The reverse bears a red seal mark reading “Qianlong Nian Zhi” (Made during the Qianlong reign), used here as an honorific mark rather than indicating the actual period of manufacture. The palette and decoration style are consistent with 20th century Chinese decorative porcelain produced for export and interior display. Plate measures approximately 16 inches in diameter. A striking large format decorative Chinese porcelain charger suitable for wall display.
