Lot 19:
Description
Striking pair of antique brass candlesticks, standing an impressive 11 inches tall and measuring approximately 4" x 4" at the base. Each features a fluted central column rising from a bold tripod base terminating in stylized claw feet, with richly cast foliate decoration at the socket and midsection. The darkened surface and verdigris patina highlight the age and character of the brass, lending a wonderful old-world presence. The construction and casting detail suggest 19th century inspiration; however, based on the finish and casting texture, these likely date to the late 19th or early 20th century. A handsome and substantial pair, ideal for traditional interiors, mantels, or dining table display. Nicely matched and ready for use or collection.
