Antique stoneware foot warmer formed in the shape of a chicken, featuring a rich brown and cream mottled glaze with molded feather details and expressive head and eye decoration. This charming utilitarian form was designed to be filled with hot water and placed at the foot of a bed to provide warmth during colder months, a common household practice in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The piece measures approximately 11.5 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 6.25 inches high and displays attractive glaze variation throughout the body. Condition shows typical age-related wear including glaze crazing and a small glaze loss or chip near the rim opening as photographed, but the piece remains a visually striking example of figural stoneware with strong decorative appeal.
