Description

Antique silver plate table crumb tray featuring an ornate engraved tray with scalloped rim and decorative corner flourishes, fitted with a turned bone handle and decorative ferrule. The ferrule is stamped with the British registration mark Rd 293163, dating the design to the late Victorian period, circa 1897. Crumb trays such as this were traditionally used with a small brush to clear crumbs from table linens between courses during formal dining service. The tray measures approximately 12 inches overall length including the handle. The bone handle displays a warm aged patina while the silver plate surface shows typical wear, polishing marks, and some plate loss consistent with age and use. A classic late 19th century dining accessory that displays well and offers appeal to collectors of Victorian tableware and silver plate serving pieces.
