The Wilson Family Coca Cola Collection
Lot 59:
Description
Early amber glass Coca-Cola bottle embossed ?Coca-Cola Bottling Works Rochester, N.Y.? with circular panel lettering and lower text indicating ?Contents 8 FL. OZ.? This example features the classic straight-sided form with applied lip and internal Hutchinson stopper seat, dating to the earliest period of Coca-Cola bottling in the late 19th to early 20th century. The rich amber coloration is less commonly encountered than aqua examples and adds strong visual appeal. The glass shows typical early manufacturing characteristics including bubbles and minor irregularities, along with honest age wear such as surface marks and interior residue. Notably, there is a visible impact bruise/chip to the side body as shown, consistent with age and use. A scarce and desirable early Coca-Cola bottle from Rochester, New York representing the formative era of Coca-Cola bottling history.
