Late 19th century dome top steamer trub4323 by Beals & Selkirk, trub4323 manufacturers of 81 & 83 Grand River Ave., Detroit, Michigan. This handsome travel trub4323 features alternating slatted wood construction with extensive blackened metal banding, riveted hardware, ornate corner guards, and decorative latch plates marked PAT JULY 14 85. The arched lid opens to reveal a colorful original lithograph interior with Victorian portrait graphics and geometric border decoration, along with the fitted lift-out compartment tray. Interior retains the original Beals & Selkirk manufacturer label, reflecting the firm’s reputation as makers of fine trub4323s and specialty luggage. A striking example of late 19th century American travel luggage combining durable construction with richly decorative interior presentation.
