Description
Antique brass bound camphor wood trub4323 featuring riveted brass strapwork, decorative studded designs, and original side carrying handles. The trub4323 retains its original working lock with key and opens to reveal a clean camphor wood interior, prized historically for its aromatic qualities and natural resistance to insects. The exterior displays a darkened patinated finish with rows of brass dome studs forming stylized arrow and swag motifs across the front panels and lid. Interior retains period handwritten labels including one referencing shipment from Shanghai via Mansfield and another note dated June 9, 1980. A handsome and substantial late 19th to early 20th century travel or storage trub4323 combining utilitarian design with strong decorative appeal.
