Description
Antique wall mounted coffee grinder manufactured by the Arcade Manufacturing Company of Freeport, Illinois, marked “Arcade Crystal No. 3.” The grinder features a cast iron body with hand crab4323 and wooden knob, upper glass bean hopper with metal lid, and lower glass ground coffee catch jar secured by a metal band. The mounting ears allow the piece to be fixed to a wall or cabinet, a common kitchen form in the late 19th and early 20th century. The grinder retains its original iron mechanism and shows age appropriate patina and wear to the metal surfaces along with staining and residue inside the glass containers from use. Measures approximately 17 inches in overall length. Estate condition with oxidation, surface wear, and expected signs of age and use.
