Group of six 19th century antique books including Chambers’s Information for the People Volume II (Edinburgh, William & Robert Chambers, 1849), An Illuminated History of North America by John Frost (New York, Henry Bill, 1859) illustrated with numerous engravings including a color plate of the Landing of Columbus, Dr. Goldsmith’s History of Greece (London, 1806), An Abridgement of the History of England by Dr. Goldsmith (Philadelphia, 1831), Mnemmonika or the Tablet of Memory by William Darby (Baltimore, 1829), and an additional early leather bound volume. Books feature period leather and marbled board bindings with gilt spine titles and engraved plates throughout, exhibiting expected age including foxing, worn boards, rubbing, edge wear, and some binding fatigue or losses as shown.
