Lot 210:
Description
Chinese carved wood figural sculpture depicting a three-figure group in traditional robes, likely representing immortals or scholarly court figures gathered around a table or stand. The composition includes a seated bearded elder and two standing attendants, each with carved headdress and chest medallion decoration, with one figure holding a paddle-form object. The underside is carved throughout with an apparent seal-script inscription or maker’s mark, an important detail that suggests the piece was deliberately finished and signed rather than left plain. The sculpture measures approximately 4.5 inches high and about 2.25 by 2 inches at the base per tag. Surface shows a warm brown polished finish with visible age-related shrib4323age cracks, separations, and losses to the base and extremities. An intriguing Chinese figural carving with notable underside inscription and good decorative presence.
