Description

Group of three antique Chinese miniature porcelain vases featuring traditional decorative techniques including underglaze blue painting and polychrome enamel decoration over pronounced crackle glaze. The lot includes a small baluster form vase decorated in cobalt blue over a heavily crackled ground measuring approximately 3 x 2.25 inches, a rounded miniature vase with red and green enamel floral decoration over dense crackle glaze measuring approximately 2 x 2.25 inches, and a faceted miniature vase with paneled underglaze blue floral motifs measuring approximately 2 x 2.25 inches. All three examples display characteristic age-related glaze crazing consistent with traditional Chinese crackle ware and retain unglazed foot rims showing light wear from age. These small cabinet or scholar’s vases were produced as decorative objects and export wares during the late Qing dynasty to early Republic period, circa late 19th to early 20th century, and present as attractive examples of traditional Chinese miniature porcelain suitable for display or collection.B213
