Description
Antique Wilcox quadruple silver plate sugar and creamer set featuring a beautifully shaped bulbous form with applied scroll handles, scalloped rims, and engraved floral decoration across the bodies. The covered sugar bowl retains its original domed lid with decorative finial, while the matching creamer displays a graceful pouring spout and matching handle. The undersides are stamped with the Wilcox Silver Plate Co. mark reading “Quadruple Plate, ” along with pattern numbers visible on the bases. The sugar measures approximately 7.5 inches across handles and about 5.5 inches high, while the creamer measures roughly 5.5 inches across the handle and spout and about 3.25 inches high. Dating to the late 19th century, the set reflects the ornate Victorian taste for decorative silver tableware. Condition shows heavy patina, tarnish, and wear to the plating consistent with age and use, but the pair remains an attractive decorative antique silverplate serving set.
