Description
Sterling silver decorative bowl by Wallace, marked “Wallace Sterling 5523” on the underside and featuring an ornate repousse rim with elaborate rococo-style scrolling and floral ornament surrounding a polished central well. The center of the bowl is engraved “Sally from Baba ’62,” indicating a likely presentation or commemorative gift dating to 1962. Wallace was one of America’s premier silver manufacturers and produced many finely detailed sterling hollowware pieces during the mid-20th century inspired by earlier Victorian and rococo revival forms.
