Lot 137:
Description
Sterling silver decorative bowl by Wallace, marked “Wallace Sterling 5523” on the underside and featuring an ornate repousse rim with elaborate rococo-style scrolling and floral ornament surrounding a polished central well. The center of the bowl is engraved “Sally from Baba ’62,” indicating a likely presentation or commemorative gift dating to 1962. Wallace was one of America’s premier silver manufacturers and produced many finely detailed sterling hollowware pieces during the mid-20th century inspired by earlier Victorian and rococo revival forms. The bowl displays a bright finish with light surface scratching and minor wear consistent with normal polishing and handling, making it an attractive piece of American sterling suitable for decorative display, presentation, or table use.
