Description
Pair of early 19th century English blue transferware plates produced by Minton & Co., Staffordshire, in the classic Delft pattern, circa 1830–1848. Each plate features a central urn and floral arrangement within a circular reserve surrounded by stylized floral sprays and geometric borders inspired by earlier Dutch Delft designs. The reverse bears the printed Minton globe mark with banner reading “Minton” above “Delft, ” identifying early production from the renowned Staffordshire pottery. Plates measure approximately 8 inches and 9.125 inches in diameter respectively. Condition shows expected age-related crazing and light staining typical of early 19th century transferware. A handsome and collectible pair from one of England’s most celebrated ceramic manufacturers, appealing to collectors of early Staffordshire pottery and blue transferware.
