Description
Offered here is a handsome three-piece Reed & Barton silverplate tea and coffee service in the elegant Regent pattern, form number 5600. This refined mid-20th century service includes: • Coffee Pot – approx. 9.5" height • Teapot – approx. 5" height • Creamer – approx. 4" height Each piece features a bulbous Georgian-inspired body raised on ornate acanthus shell feet. The gracefully scrolled handles are substantial and well balanced, while the domed lids are crowned with classic finials. The spouts are elegantly formed, with subtle period detailing consistent with traditional Regency styling. The undersides are clearly marked: REED & BARTON 5600 Regent – This pattern was a popular formal entertaining line, prized for its traditional silhouette and weight. Reed & Barton is widely regarded as one of America’s premier silverplate manufacturers, established in 1824 and long associated with high-quality tableware and presentation silver. Condition: The set shows surface wear, scratching, and areas of plate loss consistent with age and use. Notably, there is visible silverplate wear to the underside of at least one piece (as photographed). The teapot displays attractive age toning and patina. No major dents or structural damage observed. Overall, an honest estate set with presence and decorative appeal. This is an excellent decorative and functional service for traditional table settings, hospitality display, or period interior staging.
